SEN Teaching Assistant – Non Verbal Support
Location: Ormskirk
We are working closely with welcoming and supportive schools in the Ormskirk area who are looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support non verbal children, both on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident supporting children with complex communication needs and is passionate about helping every child access learning.
The role includes: • Supporting non verbal pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Working with children with EHCPs, ASD and communication needs
• Using visual communication tools such as PECS, Makaton or assistive communication strategies
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Supporting emotional regulation and engagement in learning
We are looking for candidates who: • Have experience supporting non verbal children, ideally within a school or SEN setting
• Are calm, patient and highly nurturing
• Are confident adapting communication approaches to meet individual needs
• Can work collaboratively with teachers and SEN teams

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
