SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you looking for a new opportunity? Want a career change? Looking for something different? We have a fantastic opportunity to work at an Ofsted “Outstanding” graded school based in Scunthorpe. They are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant or Carer to build relationships, nurture and develop students so that can grow into confident individuals.

The school prides itself on providing a positive education facility to whole host of students from many different backgrounds. The students have a range of difficulties including autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties, physical, language or communication difficulties.  It is a challenging but rewarding role but for the right individual this opportunity can provide the right platform for fantastic career and professional development.

The role:

  • Supporting the delivery of all lessons and helping to engage students
  • Encouraging and developing the students confidence and independence
  • Be able to support SEN pupils in small groups or 1:1 setting
  • Nurture and develop the pupils social and academic potential
  • Liaise with teachers and support staff to develop education plans
  • Age range 11-19

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous SEN or Carer experience desirable
  • Right attitude towards teaching and learning within SEN
  • Enthusiasm and determination
  • Great communication skills
