LSA and Behaviour mentors are there to engage with students who have challenging behaviours and help overcome any barriers to their learning.

The LSA and behaviour mentor will support students throughout their lessons, meeting them at the start of the day (8.30am) and supporting them until the end of the school day (3.30pm). In lessons, the LSA and behaviour mentor’s role is to support the class teacher with general classroom duties, assist with behaviour management by encouraging positivity and adapting to the pupils.

This school based in North Oxford, school offers a nurturing environment for pupils, with severe emotional and social difficulties, working in Key Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5. This school caters for a wide range of special educational needs, including the following special needs: autism, dyspraxia, speech and language difficulties and a variety of others.

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one with guidance from Teaching Personnel)
  • Happy for us to approacj 2 most relevant/recent references
  • Safeguarding trained (or willing to undertake Teaching Personnel's free safeguarding course)

Ideal Candidate:

  • Be confident building positive relationships with pupils from various backgrounds to help them progress both socially and academically
  • Experience (personal or within a school) working with SEN (not essential but desirable)
  • Willing and keen to undertake further training and receptive to

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
