SEN Teaching Assistant

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

Impact of Coronvirus: during the Coronavirus lockdown, childcare providers including special needs schools are caring for less children and remain partially closed. In response to government guidance, they will gradually start reopening. There has been a significant reduction in childcare jobs as a result, however we expect them to increase in the coming months.

Based on this, we are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants (TA's) to work in one of our client schools in Salisbury. You could be working with young people between the ages of 4-19 with varying needs including but not limited to Autism (ASC), Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD and PMLD), behavioural needs and speech and language difficulties.

This SEN school is committed to active, creative, reflective learning, maximised by encouragement to each individual pupil to achieve their best in every aspect of their development. They believe that everyone can learn, both socially and academically, becoming dynamic, independent thinkers with a lifelong love of learning.

The role will be varied and interesting and you will find yourself involved in every aspect of the children and young people's lives – including practical, hands on activities, offering vital emotional, guidance and support – and bringing your care, attention and structure to every child's unique life. Each day will bring its own set of challenges, obstacles and victories, as well as the personal rewards of working with each individual to help them achieve their personal best – whatever that may be.

Who are we looking for?

  • Applicants with experience working with young people who have SEN in a mainstream or special needs school setting
  • Applicants with experience supporting children with SEN in a care setting
  • We are able to consider TA's with full time, part time and flexible ability
  • It would be beneficial for you to drive but this is not essential
