An Ofsted outstanding school in Gorton are seeking an English ECT for a permanent position to start in September 2023. This is a full-time post working Monday – Friday with full planning and marking responsibilities, the school will provide all ECT support as well as a number of free CPD courses.

  • Pay in line with your PayScale (£28,000 per annum).
  • Permanent position available – Must hold QTS
  • Full ECT Support.
  • Work in an Ofsted outstanding school.

The school in question is one of the leading schools in the city of Manchester, they consistently look to raise the bar year on year to maintain and develop the quality education they provide. Their GCSE results for the subject of English have been steadily rising over the past few years, a statistic the department and Senior Leadership Team are working to improve even further.

Behaviour at the school is exemplary. Pupils are extremely courteous and respectful. Pupils of all ages get along exceedingly well. They are accepting of each other’s differences. Pupils have no concerns about bullying. They said that it would be ‘out of the ordinary’. Should any bullying occur, pupils are confident that teachers will ‘shut it down immediately’.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Create and develop an enthralling learning experience for your students, differentiating work where needed to ensure each and every student takes the maximum from your sessions.
  • Work closely with the school’s dedicated team of support staff to help identify any pupils that would benefit from receiving extended support.
  • Attend regular department meetings, providing progress updates as well as voicing any concerns you may have.
  • Set engaging homework tasks, encouraging students to participate in their own reading and research outside of class.
  • Work with students with SEN, ensuring that they have the appropriate work set and are receiving the right level of support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
