Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Salary: GBP57 - GBP65 per day

Location: Bristol

Our Specialist SEN branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a well established SEN school in the Bristol area who specialise in providing an adapted curriculum for children who have a diagnosis of Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties and Autism. The School are in need of temporary, full time and part time teaching assistants to work with pupils with a variety of needs. As you maybe aware of the countries in a difficult situation due to the coronvirus. However, this SEN School are still seeking TA's to help support on a day by day basis. This could be down to the children being classed as vulnrable or children who have parents who are classed as key workers. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for psychology graduates, youth workers, Sports coaches, residential support workers and experienced individuals who are passionate about working with SEN children. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates to gain expereince working with various SEN needs on a full time or part time basis. 

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant will include:

 

· Undertaking tasks set by the class teacher.

· Supporting children within the class.

· Building up rapport between yourself and the pupils.

· Managing the classroom under the direction of the class teacher.

· Supporting children with SEN ranging from mild to severe.

· Working with small groups of 1-2-1.

· Working in collaboration with other professionals such as Physiotherapists, Occupational .Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists and other health care professionals.

To apply for this position, you will need:

 

· Recent experience of working in a Mainstream classroom/or experience of working with children with special educational needs (SEN) in an educational setting.

· A strong passion to enhance the development of pupils.

· An approachable and positive attitude.

· Hold relevant qualifications.

· Ideally Team Teach Trained. (Not essential)

· Be confident in working with small groups and 1:1.

· Hold a current child work force DBS on the update service or willing to take one.
