There is an opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant to begin a new career in a fantastic, specialised school.

 

The school is a school for pupils with SEN needs. These needs often include Autism, Physical Disabilities, and other complex learning needs. The pupils are all of secondary age but working at much lower levels due to these needs. As a result, lessons are based around the support of basic maths and English, communication, confidence building and communication skills.

The role of the SEN Teaching Assistant would be to support the pupils in all areas of school life, such as supporting tasks under the direction of a teacher, promoting good communication between peers and staff, assisting at mealtimes, and being a calming influence in times of occasional challenging behaviour.

This role would be suitable for those of relevant experience such as those from a background in education, care or the support of vulnerable people.

Recent graduates from fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Nursing are also encouraged to apply.

 

This would be a full-time role, Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30-15:30. The school is based not far from central Oldham so has good transport links.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
