SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

A school in Tameside is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team.

Requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Experience working with either children or adults with SEN.
  • Passion for developing young people.
  • Interest in furthering a career in support OR becoming a full time teacher.

Working within the SEN department, the role will involve managing the individual needs of students. The applicant will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring students with SEN are able to engage within the classroom setting.
  • Making access arrangements for those with specific mobility issues.
  • Developing resources for individuals with Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and other health conditions.
  • Creating a positive learning environment for all students.
  • Supporting teaching staff, taking on additional responsibilities when required including acting as a cover supervisor in relation to staff absences.
  • Implementing specific targeted plans in order to boost attainment and development.
  • Ensuring any pastoral issues are managed effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
