SEN Teaching Assistant – Flexible Specialist Education Work
Weymouth Area | Part-Time Supply Role | September 2026 Start | £14.25 Per Hour

Teaching Personnel is currently building its team of experienced SEN Teaching Assistants for flexible supply opportunities across several specialist SEN and SEMH provisions throughout the Weymouth area.
This role is perfectly suited to candidates who enjoy working within specialist education but want the flexibility that supply work provides. With multiple provisions requiring support throughout the academic year, there is a wide variety of settings available, offering rewarding experiences and ongoing opportunities.
Successful candidates will be expected to confidently integrate into established teams and provide high-quality support from the outset.
The Role
- Support pupils with additional educational needs.
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group support.
- Assist with classroom activities and learning objectives.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
- Promote independence and confidence.
- Work closely with educational and pastoral teams.
- Follow personalised support plans and school procedures.
What We Need
- Have previous SEN or SEMH experience.
- Can hit the ground running in unfamiliar environments.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Remain calm under pressure.
- Show flexibility and adaptability.
- Have a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
