Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time at an 11-16 special school in Tiverton. The role involves supporting students in years 7-11 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), focusing particularly on those with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and related Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with ASC and SEMH needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
- Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs.
- Work closely with teachers to develop and adapt teaching materials to meet students’ specific needs.
- Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior.
- Monitor and record students' progress and well-being, providing feedback to teachers and other professionals as required.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
