SEN Teaching Assistant

If so, this exciting opportunity could be for you. We at Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a confident Teaching Assistant to work within an SEMH school in Rotherham. The successful candidate for this role, will have knowledge and understanding of how to support children with social and emotional mental health needs and general moderate/severe learning difficulties, Supporting their additional needs alongside suppurting the class teacher to ensure a positive learning environment.

No direct experience is necessary. However this role is perefectly suited to those with experience working in support/care work. We are just looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about supporting children in their education as well as patient and understanding with Special Educational Needs or SEHM issues. 

Your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant include but aren’t limited to:

-          Managing and supporting children with moderate to severe learning difficulties 

-          Ensuring pupils stay on task by managing disruptive behaviour.

-          Providing support to children on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting.

-          Safeguarding children.

-          Assisting the teacher in planning engaging lessons for the class in line with school policies

-          Collaborating with the class teacher and other support staff to provide the best support.

All applicants will be required to have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service and at least two references from former employers.

Wage – £80-£95 per day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
