About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a school’s Inclusion Resource (IR) Unit. This role involves working closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students in a structured and nurturing environment, helping them access education and develop key life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support within the IR unit
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support students with additional needs, including behavioural and emotional support
- Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Encourage student engagement, independence, and confidence
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
- Understanding of additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, or SEMH
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach – desirable but not essential)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
