Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Location: Redruth, Cornwall
Full-Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Starts Available
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We are recruiting dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in the Redruth area. This rewarding role involves supporting students both in the classroom and within the local community, helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
The Role
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver engaging learning activities.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students and encourage their personal development.
- Accompany students on educational and community-based outings.
- Use your own vehicle to transport students to planned activities and appointments where required (mileage expenses paid where applicable).
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is essential.
- A caring, patient and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own reliable vehicle and willingness to use it for work purposes.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
