SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity – Preston

A warm and inclusive Special School in Preston is currently on the lookout for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time, long-term position involves supporting students aged 3 to 19 who present with a variety of moderate to profound and complex learning difficulties.

 

Position Details:

  • Role: SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN Support Assistant

  • Location: Preston

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Rate of Pay: £13.75 per hour / £90 daily – paid weekly

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering creative, sensory-based learning activities tailored to individual needs.

  • Helping to maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages growth and safety.

  • Promoting students' independence and confidence using personalised strategies and positive reinforcement.

  • Celebrating and recording each learner’s progress and personal achievements.

  • Collaborating with colleagues and families to build strong support networks around each child.

  • Are caring, patient, and deeply committed to supporting children with additional learning needs.

  • Show a sincere passion for helping young people achieve their full potential.

  • May have previous experience, or be new to the field—graduates (particularly in psychology or education), current TAs, and career changers are encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
