We are seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive post-16 education setting in Poole. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, supporting young people aged 16 to 18. Working hours are 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, offering a rewarding and structured working day.
You will be working within an inclusive and forward-thinking learning environment that is well known for supporting students as they transition into adulthood. The setting places a strong emphasis on independence, life skills and emotional wellbeing, while maintaining high expectations and a positive, respectful culture. Staff are well supported and work closely as a team to ensure students feel safe, motivated and valued.
Students may present with a range of Special Educational Needs, including:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Learning difficulties and additional learning needs

Communication and sensory needs
-
Social, emotional and behavioural challenges
Your Role

Supporting students within lessons and structured activities

Providing 1:1 and small-group support

Encouraging independence and positive behaviour

Supporting personal development and life skills
Experience Required
-
A minimum of 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting young people with SEN needs
-
A patient, adaptable and supportive approach

A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
