Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Location: Plymouth
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Teaching Personnel is recruitming for a (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work in a dynamic and inclusive educational institution committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for all students. They believe in fostering an atmosphere that encourages individual growth and celebrates diversity. Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Plymouth.
Role Overview: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and social development of students with special educational needs. Working closely with the teaching staff and the SEN coordinator, you will contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere within the classroom, promoting a sense of belonging for all students.
- Assist in the preparation and adaptation of teaching materials to meet the specific needs of individual students.
- Support students with their emotional and social development, helping them to build confidence and develop essential life skills.
- Monitor and record the progress of students, providing feedback to the teaching staff and contributing to regular review meetings.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all students, addressing any issues promptly and sensitively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
- A relevant qualification in education or special education is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of children.
- Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support diverse needs.
- Basic understanding of relevant policies and procedures related to special educational needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
