SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, LS12

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Salary:

£85 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Supporting and assisting children with special educational needs (SEN) in their learning and development
  • Implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to pupils as needed
  • Assisting with classroom activities, including preparing materials and resources
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress and behaviour

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN and different learning needs
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual pupil requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SEN-specific qualifications or training
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

Work primarily in a classroom setting, assisting children with SEN. May require some physical activity and the ability to respond to challenging behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
