Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEN)
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (term-time only)
Start Date: After Easter Half-term
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Leatherhead. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them to access education and develop key life skills in a supportive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with Special Educational Needs in both classroom and practical learning settings
- Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning programmes
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs
- Assist with communication, social development, and emotional regulation
- Encourage independence and positive behaviour
- Support with personal care if required (training provided)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
