Sen Teaching Assistant
Job description
Location: Kenton/Gosforth secondary school
Start Date: April 2026 and September 2026
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join dynamic and inclusive secondary schools in NE3 as an SEN Teaching Assistant commencing ASAP (with other roles from September).
This position offers an excellent opportunity for those wishing to gain practical experience within an educational setting, particularly if you aspire to progress into teaching, pastoral care, or educational psychology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects.
- Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups, particularly those requiring additional assistance.
- Contribute to the preparation of classroom resources and displays.
- Monitor student progress and behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Engage in ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development throughout the academic year.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
