We are recruiting dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming and supportive schools across Guildford. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs who are committed to helping every pupil thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals.

You may be supporting pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • ADHD

  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)

  • Physical and complex needs

You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to deliver personalised support within the classroom and through targeted interventions.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.

  • Experience supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs.

  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their full potential.

Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning or SEN are desirable but not essential where substantial experience can be demonstrated.
