Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Cranleigh
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time 


About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supportive and inclusive school community in Cranleigh. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities

  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and social development

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO

  • Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies


About You

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school or care settings) is desirable

  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A willingness to learn and adapt to individual student needs

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are an advantage but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
