Teaching Assistant – KS1 SEN Support (Mainstream Primary Hub)

Location: Blackpool (FY1)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school, supporting pupils within a KS1 SEN hub.

This is a rewarding full-time role, ideal for an individual passionate about making a meaningful difference to young learners with additional needs.

The Role

You will be working within a specialist SEN provision within a mainstream KS1 setting, supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
  • Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities
  • Supporting emotional regulation and social development
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment

 

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting
  • Is patient, nurturing, and resilient
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Is confident adapting learning approaches to meet individual needs
  • Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred, not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
