Job Title: SEN Teacher (Primary & Secondary)

Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is currently building a strong network of dedicated and compassionate SEN Teachers in and around Maidstone in preparation for September 2026. We are working with a range of specialist provisions, SEN schools, and mainstream settings with additional resource bases, and are seeking skilled educators who are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure work in advance for the new academic year, whether you are seeking a long-term role, permanent position, or flexible supply work.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and learning difficulties
- Adapt teaching strategies to support individual learning styles and EHCP targets
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience working with pupils with SEN in either specialist or mainstream settings
- Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working in SEN schools or alternative provisions
- Team Teach or other behaviour management training
- Experience supporting pupils with complex needs or EHCPs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
