Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and committed SEN Teacher to provide support across a number of our SEN partner schools in the Solihull (B92) area. 

About this role:  

We are seeking a committed SEN Teacher to join our team and deliver tailored support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Processing or Learning Difficulties (LD). The successful candidate will be skilled in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, designing and implementing personalised education plans, and working effectively with support staff, families, and external professionals. Through thorough assessment, targeted interventions, and ongoing monitoring of progress, the SEN Teacher will play a key role in removing barriers to learning and enabling each pupil to achieve meaningful, long‑term progress. 

Requirements:  

  • Willing to complete a DBS check or provide and updated version. 

  • PGCE Qualification – with QTS  

  • Provide 2 references 

  • Proof of right to work in the UK 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver personalised teaching and learning for pupils with SEND, including SEMH, ASD, and learning or processing difficulties. 

  • Create inclusive, supportive classroom environments that meet the diverse needs of SEND learners. 

  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored support strategies for pupils with SEND. 

  • Assess pupils’ needs and monitor progress to inform targeted interventions and next steps. 

  • Work collaboratively with support staff, such as Teaching Assistants and specialist SEND practitioners. 

  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and effective SEND provision. 

  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit a wide range of learning styles and accessibility requirements. 

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using appropriate SEND‑focused strategies. 

  • Maintainaccurate records relating to SEND progress, interventions, and safeguarding. 

  • Contribute to whole‑school SEND practice, including meetings, training, and the development of inclusive approaches.

  •  Emotionally resilient and reflective in their practice.
