Job description

Great teaching changes lives. Could yours make the difference?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate, committed SEN Teacher for a rewarding opportunity within a specialist educational setting in West London. This is an opportunity to do more than deliver lessons: you’ll help children and young people with additional needs develop their confidence, communication, independence and love of learning.

If you believe progress should be measured not only in grades, but also in the little victories that change a pupil’s life, we want to hear from you.

The opportunity

You’ll teach and support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism and associated communication, sensory or physical needs.

Working alongside experienced teaching assistants and other professionals, you’ll create a structured, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their potential.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies, resources and activities to suit a range of abilities and communication styles.
  • Establish positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
  • Set meaningful learning goals and monitor progress towards individual targets.
  • Support pupils’ communication, emotional development, social skills and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, families and the wider team to deliver consistent support.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, inclusion and classroom practice.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN, or a genuine commitment to developing specialist expertise.
  • Strong differentiation, classroom management and communication skills.
  • Patience, resilience, creativity and the ability to celebrate progress at every level.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and helping every pupil feel included.

Why work with Teaching Personnel?

  • Competitive daily pay, matched to your experience and expertise.
  • Opportunities for long-term placements and professional development.
  • Support from a dedicated education recruitment consultant.
  • Access to a broad network of education opportunities.
  • The chance to make a tangible difference in pupils’ lives every single day.
