SEN Teacher – IR Unit (Sheffield)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to work within an Integrated Resource (IR) Unit in a welcoming and supportive school in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a passionate educator looking to specialise in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The Role
You will be working within the school’s IR unit, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The role involves delivering tailored lessons, supporting inclusion, and working closely with the wider school team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Develop and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with children with SEN (in mainstream or specialist settings)
- Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated teaching strategies
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
