SEN Teacher
Job description
SEN Teacher
A new school. A blank page. Real impact from day one.
Location: Lytham
This is not a replacement post.
It is not “due to expansion.”
No one is retiring.
We are opening a brand-new specialist school, and we are looking for a SEN Teacher who wants to help shape something meaningful from the very beginning.
The role (in real terms)
You will:
- Teach pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social-emotional needs
- Build trusting relationships with pupils who may not have trusted school before
- Work collaboratively with therapists, families, and support staff
- Help shape curriculum, routines, and classroom culture from the ground up
- Be given the time and autonomy to teach well — not just cope
You might be the right person if…
- You are a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with SEN experience
- You care deeply about inclusion, dignity, and emotional safety
- You are reflective, curious, and open to doing things differently
- You value teamwork, but are confident using your professional judgement
- You want to be part of something new, not squeezed into something old
What you can expect from us
- A genuinely supportive leadership team
- Small classes and meaningful support
- Time to plan, reflect, and collaborate
- Competitive salary, aligned to experience
- Ongoing professional development that is practical, not box-ticking
- The chance to help define the culture of a school from its first day
