SEN Teacher – Specialist School (PMLD)
Temp-to-Perm | Agency Opportunity

We are working in partnership with a specialist school to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who is committed to making a meaningful difference to pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

The Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering highly personalised learning programmes for pupils with complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical needs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support pupils’ communication, cognition, independence, and overall wellbeing within a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with PMLD

  • Create an inclusive, structured, and stimulating learning environment

  • Use specialist strategies such as sensory-based learning, communication aids, and personalised targets

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals

  • Monitor and record pupil progress in line with EHCP outcomes

  • Ensure safeguarding, health, and care procedures are followed at all times

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)

  • Proven experience, or strong confidence, working with children with PMLD

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to teaching and learning

  • Strong understanding of SEN and inclusive practice

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a specialist team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
