Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Teacher (QTS Essential) to join a welcoming and well-established specialist secondary SEN school in Blackley.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young people who require additional support to access learning, helping them build confidence, independence and essential life skills in a highly supportive setting. The school caters for pupils with a range of complex needs, and we are specifically looking for teachers with experience supporting learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

The Role

As a Specialist SEN Teacher, you will:

✅ Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs

✅ Support pupils working at a range of developmental and academic levels

✅ Develop learning programmes linked to EHCP outcomes

✅ Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and wider multidisciplinary teams

✅ Encourage communication, independence, emotional regulation and personal development

✅ Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews and target setting

✅ Create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can flourish


About the School

This specialist secondary provision supports young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and a variety of additional needs, including:

Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD)

Sensory Processing Needs

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Needs

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

❌ Overseas teaching qualifications or equivalent status cannot be accepted

✔ Experience teaching secondary-aged pupils

✔ Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND

✔ Experience working with pupils with PMLD

✔ Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS, or willingness to obtain one

✔ Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills

✔ Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
