Job description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team, working across Early Years (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1). This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, delivering tailored learning experiences that enable every child to thrive.

You will play a key role in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.

SEN Teacher (EYFS & KS1)

Location: Burnley
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £120 – £150 per day until AWR is addressed – then paid in line with the M-Scale of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to meet a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or complex needs)
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs/EHCP targets)
  • Foster a supportive and stimulating learning environment for young learners
  • Work closely with the SENCo, teaching assistants, and external professionals
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupils’ progress, adapting provision as needed
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience working within SEN settings or with pupils with additional needs, ideally in EYFS/KS1
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of early childhood development and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Be patient, nurturing, and highly adaptable
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to achieving the best outcomes for all pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
