Teaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in the OL1 area that are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join otheirsupportive primary school team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours. You will provide individual and small-group support, helping pupils to engage positively with learning, develop emotional regulation and build confidence and independence.

The role will involve:

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour throughout the school day.

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support both in and outside the classroom.

• Helping children to manage emotions, develop positive relationships and regulate their behaviour.

• Using positive behaviour strategies and consistent boundaries to support pupils.

• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and families to meet individual needs.

• Encouraging pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

• Supporting a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for someone who is patient, calm, nurturing and consistent, with the ability to build positive relationships with children while maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries. Previous experience working with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable, but we also welcome applicants who have the right attitude, commitment and willingness to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
