SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary | Bracknell Area
Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Permanent/Fixed-Term | Competitive Pay (Based on Experience)

Are you a caring, patient, and motivated individual looking to make a positive impact in children's lives?

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Bracknell area. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, supporting their learning and development both in and outside the classroom.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties).

  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

  • Implement personalised learning strategies and support behaviour management.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff.

  • Foster pupils’ confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience working with children in a school or SEN setting (voluntary or paid).

  • Demonstrates a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Is calm, patient, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Is confident in supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification).

  • Experience with EHCPs and SEN interventions.

  • Knowledge or training in Makaton, PECS, Team Teach, or sensory support techniques.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
