SEN Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a number of East Lancashire Primary Schools who are in need of SEN Support Assistants. We are currently looking to fill a number of roles, both part-time and full-time which span across the key stages in the areas of Blackburn, Great-Harwood, Rawtenstall, Oswaldtwistle, and Burnley. As an SEN Support Assistant, you will support a child with SEN on a 1:1 basis. This would include helping them access the curriculum within the classroom, also providing additional intervention work where required. The successful Practitioner must be dedicated, approachable and hold a genuine passion for helping children with additional needs progress both socially and academically. Experience within a primary school or similar setting may be looked upon favourably but is not essential.

You will need to hold the following; 

  • Experience supporting people with SEN.
  • Able to provide recent references and obtain a full DBS check.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and assisting in the development of children with additional needs.
  • Capable of managing behaviour

The positions are of competitive rates of pay GBP10.20 – GBP12.70 an hour and have varied start dates dependent upon the school’s needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
