About the Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN/SEMH Secondary Teacher to join one of our valued partner Alternative Provisions from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to supporting young people with additional needs.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and differentiated STEM lessons across the secondary age range, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role begins as a supply position, with strong potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.
About the Provision
The Alternative Provision supports students who may have struggled in mainstream education and require a more tailored, nurturing approach. The setting places a strong emphasis on building positive relationships, promoting emotional wellbeing, and re-engaging learners with education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality STEM lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Support students with SEN/SEMH needs, using effective behaviour management strategies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching approaches as needed
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external professionals
- Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and personal development
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of the secondary STEM curriculum
- Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH students (preferred)
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
