Job description

Are you ready for an exciting new opportunity. We are looking for qualified, passionate and dedicated primary teachers to work in one of our Specialist SEN primary schools in the Manchester area. You will be shaping the lives of young people who have moderate SEN needs ranging from Autism, Learning disabilities and communication challenges.

‍About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils. Your role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering creative, accessible lessons in line with EHCPs
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, moderate learning difficulties, social and communication challenges
  • Creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Using de-escalation strategies and trauma-informed approaches
  • Working closely with support staff and families
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to reviews and reports

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in SEN teaching, ideally within a primary setting
  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient
  • Skilled in de-escalation and behaviour support strategies
  • A strong communicator with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Confident in planning and adapting lessons to meet diverse needs
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Qualifications & Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service
  • At least 2 employment references (at least 2 years)
  • Safeguarding training (provided)
  • Experience supporting young people with additional needs
  • Knowledge of Autism, MLD, and communication delays

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
