Teaching Personnel is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in schools across Oxford. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support within the classroom.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
  • Possess a patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Are passionate about supporting students with additional needs.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
