Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEN

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within specialist SEN schools in Addlestone, Surrey.
This role focuses on providing individualised support to a specific student, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and reach their full potential in a supportive and structured environment.
About the Setting
You will be working in welcoming, specialist SEN schools supporting pupils aged 5–18 with needs including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- ADHD and behavioural needs
- Sensory processing difficulties
These settings provide nurturing, structured support with strong collaboration between staff, therapists, and families.
Key Responsibilities
As a HLTA, you will:
- Provide focused 1:1 support tailored to the student’s individual needs
- Adapt and deliver learning activities to suit ability and learning style
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Implement personalised education and behaviour plans
- Build a consistent, trusting relationship with the pupil
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Lead targeted interventions and support lesson engagement

We are looking for someone who is:
- HLTA qualified (essential)
- Experienced supporting pupils with SEN
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Confident leading learning activities and interventions
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs
- Skilled in building strong relationships with students
✅ Experience with ASD, SEMH, or complex needs is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
