SEN Education Support Assistant – Trowbridge (BA14)

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: £92–£105 per day
Hours: Full Time, Monday–Friday (Term Time Only)

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Education Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Trowbridge (BA14) this September.


About the Role

As an SEN Education Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with teaching assistant duties
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Assisting with behaviour management strategies
  • Delivering sensory support and interventions
  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including communication and social development
  • Providing personal care, where required

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full UK driving licence (essential)

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Experience working with children or young people in either a formal or informal setting, such as:

    • Schools or education settings
    • Support/care work
    • Youth work
    • Church or community groups
    • After-school or holiday clubs
    • Summer camps or similar environments
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing attitude

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
