Special Needs Class Teacher – Inclusion Hub & SEN Provision in Mainstream Schools

Safe, inclusive and nurturing mainstream schools in the Tameside area are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Class Teacher to join their Inclusion Hub and wider SEN provision. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them build confidence, independence and key skills that will empower them both in school and beyond. The schools aim to appoint the right person on a permanent basis to support the expansion of SEN provisions.

Location: Tameside SK14
Job Type: Full‑time
Salary: £130–160 per day
Start date: September 2026


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality, personalised learning that meets the diverse needs of pupils within the Inclusion Hub and SEN provision.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support a range of needs, including cognition & learning, communication & interaction, SEMH and sensory needs.
  • Set high expectations and clear standards, encouraging pupils to reach their highest potential through achievable, well‑structured steps.
  • Monitor and track progress using individual learning plans, EHCP targets and ongoing assessment.
  • Foster a calm, safe and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported, understood and valued.
  • Work closely with the wider SEN team, support staff and external professionals to ensure holistic provision.
  • Safeguard all pupils and promote their wellbeing at all times.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience working with pupils with special educational needs or a strong passion to specialise in SEN.
  • Can confidently adapt teaching to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork and behaviour‑support skills.
  • Holds a valid DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
