Tutor Needed – Specialist SEMH Provision (March, Bourn & Bar Hill)
Supporting learners from Primary through Post‑16 - Immediate start (following the Eatser holidays)

We are seeking resilient, confident and proactive Tutors to support students across our Cambridgshire SEMH sites.
About the Role
As a Tutor in this setting, you will work mostly on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, delivering learning to students with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and educational needs. Our provision includes:
- Primary through til KS5 provision including functional skills, NCFE courses, VCerts, T Levels, and GCSEs
You will deliver lessons using an already established and robust curriculum — no planning required.
Resources include White Rose (Maths & Science), NCFE, Century, and individualised learner programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging learning sessions using provided curriculum materials
- Build rapport quickly and manage behaviour safely and confidently
- Follow trauma‑informed principles
- Be proactive, adaptable, and able to use initiative (this is essential — you will not be spoon‑fed)
- Use the centre’s computer systems to update learner progress
- Produce weekly professional, concise, and detailed reports on each student
- Maintain high safeguarding standards – strong knowledge is essential
Tutors must be confident delivering high‑quality lessons independently.
⚠️ Important Setting Requirements
- Safeguarding knowledge must be strong
- Must be comfortable working with a wide range of ages, including learners who may present challenging behaviour
- Must be able to write professional reports and use digital systems confidently
- GCSEs will be taken onsite, with dedicated invigilation provided
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 or Level 4 Tutors, unqualified teachers, HLTA‑level staff, or experienced mentors
- Adaptable, confident individuals who can manage behaviour and maintain structure
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust quickly
- Ability to work independently while following set curriculum resources
- Commitment to high safeguarding standards and ongoing professional development
Hours
09:00 – 15:00, unless specified otherwise

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
