SEMH Teaching Assistant – Redruth
Location: Redruth, Cornwall
Hours: 8:45am – 3:15pm
Contract: Term Time Only

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and resilient individual to join a fantastic SEMH school in Redruth, supporting children and young people aged 6–16.
This is a wonderfully fun, supportive and rewarding school environment, where no two days are the same. The school takes a creative approach to education, with lots of opportunities for learning outside of the classroom, helping students develop confidence, independence and life skills alongside their academic learning.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, providing encouragement, support and positive relationships that help them thrive.
Your day-to-day role may include:
- Supporting pupils with their learning and development
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Supporting learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
- Accompanying students on educational visits and activities in the local community
- Working as part of a supportive and dedicated school team

- Passionate about supporting children and young people
- A great team player with a positive attitude
- Experienced in working with individuals with special educational needs and/or additional needs
Previous experience within an SEMH, SEN or specialist education setting would be highly desirable.
Essential Requirements
Due to the amount of learning and activities that take place outside of school, the successful candidate must have access to their own car and hold business insurance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
