An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist post-16 education setting in Poole. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, supporting young people aged 16 to 18, working 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Student Needs
Students are supported with a range of needs, including:

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
-
Anxiety, low self-esteem and emotional regulation difficulties
-
Behavioural challenges linked to trauma or attachment
-
Additional learning and communication needs
Key Responsibilities
-
Providing consistent classroom and 1:1 support
-
Supporting students to manage emotions and behaviour positively
-
Building strong, trusting relationships to promote engagement
-
Encouraging independence, confidence and life skills development
Experience Required
-
A minimum of 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting young people with SEN or SEMH needs

A calm, patient and resilient approach
-
Strong communication and behaviour management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
