SEMH Teaching Assistant – Morecambe (LA4)

Location: Morecambe (LA4) – must be based locally or willing to commute
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time (until end of academic year)
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role:
A small, supportive primary school in Morecambe is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from January 2026. This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs and autism, helping them progress academically and socially. The position runs until the end of the academic year, so we need someone patient, compassionate, and committed.

You will work closely with the school’s SENDCO and SEN team, who will provide guidance and resources. While this is a class-based role, the pupil has access to tailored SEN provisions to support you in delivering effective interventions.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting learners with SEMH needs and/or autism.
  • Ability to provide consistent, tailored 1:1 support.
  • Calm, compassionate approach and strong behaviour management skills.
  • Commitment to a full-time role in a small, supportive primary school.
