SEMH Teaching Assistant – Egham – Immediate Start

An opportunity has become available for a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Egham on a full-time basis (Monday - Friday), starting ASAP.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a genuine difference in a nurturing and therapeutic educational environment.

About the School

• Small specialist SEMH setting with approximately 15–20 students

• Only 2 classrooms, allowing for a close-knit and supportive environment

• Students are supported with a range of needs including:

  • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)

  • Autism

  • ADHD

  • PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)

The Role

• Full-time position

• Working hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm

• One day per week staff are required to stay until 5:00pm for curriculum planning and staff meetings

• Supporting students both academically and emotionally

• Building strong, positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours

• Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to provide consistent support

Requirements

• Previous SEN or SEMH experience is essential

• Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, PDA, or behavioural needs is highly desirable

• Strong behaviour management skills

• Calm, resilient, and compassionate approach

• Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries
