SEMH Teaching Assistant – Darwen (Permanent Role)

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Darwen is looking to appoint a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team permanently. This role is suited to someone who is motivated by helping children overcome barriers to learning and supporting their emotional and social development.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to regulate emotions, build confidence and engage positively in school life. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you will contribute to creating a safe, structured and encouraging environment for every child.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver targeted SEMH interventions and support

Provide 1:1 and small‑group assistance

Help pupils develop emotional resilience and positive behaviour

Work collaboratively with staff to implement support plans

Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
