Here at Teaching Personnel, we are currently recruiting for a Social Emotional Mental Health Teacher to work in schools across Bristol. *ALL TEACHERS WHO SIGN UP WITH US WILL RECEIVE A £250 BONUS AFTER WORKING WITH US FOR FOUR WEEKS*
As a SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored educational experiences to students with SEMH needs, helping them develop essential skills and overcome personal barriers to learning. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, support staff, and parents, to create a collaborative approach to student development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH requirements.
- Establish strong relationships with students, providing emotional support and guidance to promote well-being and resilience.
- Implement behavior management strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and external agencies to develop and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting learning plans as needed.
- Participate in training and development to continuously improve your practice and understanding of SEMH.
Person Specification
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Specialization in SEN/SEMH is highly desirable.
- Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, preferably within an educational setting.
- Skills: Strong classroom management, excellent communication, and an empathetic approach to understanding student challenges.
- Attributes: Patience, resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
