✨ SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Secondary School ✨

Secondary School Setting
Full-time / Part-time Available
Working via Teaching Personnel

We are looking for a dedicated, resilient and experienced SEMH Learning Support Assistant to support students in a secondary school environment. This role is ONLY suitable for candidates with prior SEMH experience and is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people who need it most

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE:

Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs is ESSENTIAL
❌ This role is not suitable for candidates without relevant experience

The Role:

As an SEMH LSA, you will work closely with students who require additional social, emotional and mental health support to fully access education. You’ll help create a calm, safe and structured environment where students can thrive

️ Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs

  • Support emotional regulation, behaviour management & wellbeing

  • Assist students both inside and outside the classroom

  • Build strong, positive and trusting relationships with students

  • Support teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams with tailored strategies

  • Act as a positive role model and consistent support figure

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience working with SEMH students (required)

  • Calm, patient and resilient under pressure

  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills

  • ❤️ Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour in a positive way

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
