Position: SEMH Support Assistant
Location: Preston
Hours: Full-time, 8:45 am - 3:15 pm, Monday to Friday
Rate of Pay: £12.90 per hour

School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 3. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to work closely with a young learner, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 3 with SEMH needs, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Implement strategies to manage and support challenging behaviour effectively.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to tailor learning activities to the child's needs.
- Foster a positive, nurturing relationship to build the child’s confidence and social skills.
- Monitor and report on the child's progress, adapting support strategies as necessary.
- Promote inclusion and help the child to integrate with their peers.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in supporting children with challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and effective intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
