Do you have a steady presence and the ability to connect with young people who may not always find school easy? Do you believe that with the right support, consistency, and trust, every student can move forward? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a SEMH Behaviour Mentor to support students in a Secondary SEMH setting in Birmingham. This role is about understanding the reasons behind behaviour, building strong relationships, and helping young people develop the skills they need to regulate emotions, make positive choices, and engage with learning.

- Supporting secondary-aged students with SEMH needs
- Working one-to-one and in small groups to build emotional regulation and social skills
- Helping students manage behaviour in a supportive, restorative way
- Being a consistent, trusted adult throughout the school day
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and families to provide joined-up support
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Remains calm and reflective in challenging situations
- Can build respectful, trusting relationships with teenagers
- Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches
- Is passionate about helping young people feel understood and valued
What We Offer:
- Continuous support and communication from a dedicated consultant
- Strong teamwork and guidance
- A meaningful role where your presence truly makes a difference
- Up to date CPD training
If you’re someone who believes in second chances, steady support, and the power of positive relationships, we’d love to hear from you.
