SEMH Behaviour Mentor – Halifax (HX2)

Daily Rate: £90–£105/day | Full-time/Part-time/Temp to perm | Alternative Provision/PRU

We are recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs in a specialist setting. Many pupils are at risk of exclusion and require additional support to re-engage in education.

Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 with pupils to build trust, resilience, and positive behaviours.

• Deliver tailored interventions, such as anger management, emotional regulation, and restorative approaches.

• Support classroom teachers in behaviour management and de-escalation.

• Act as a mentor and positive role model for vulnerable young people.

• Contribute to behaviour support plans and progress reviews.

Requirements:

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural challenges.

• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.

• Suitable for candidates with backgrounds in youth work, ex-forces, ex-police, or care.

• Must hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
